Are you suffering from green guilt?

Nowadays, we are constantly reminded of the need to 'Go Green'

I have a problem. It's what I call "green guilt." It's not that I turn green because I feel so guilty, it's that I feel guilty for not being green enough. From March 29 to April 3, Downtown Campus celebrates Nature Awareness Week. The week is full of events focused on nature, our environment, and our community.

"You can't save the whole world Michael," is what one of my best friends told me one frustrating night. My reply to her was pretty simple, "Why not?" Why not "save the world" or do all I can do in my power to make sure it is a much better place than when I came in it? Why shouldn't anyone reading this, not have that same mindset? A mindset in which they feel the need to do something important and substantial, that is much bigger than meeting their own selfish interests.

The atmosphere surrounding Kent Campus is usually relaxed. There is something peaceful about the large green yards and the large shady trees. The only complaint I have about the campus is the squirrels. Squirrels are not cute. It amazes me how some people are able to find these disgusting little rodents anything but a source of meat.
