On April 29, Handmaid, a play produced by Florida State College at Jacksonville Kent Campus Student Life and Leadership Department and the Jacksonville Artist's Company at Kent. The play ran until May 1. Handmaid, an original drama and music, was written by Jennifer Chase.

Author gives insight into those who suffer in the Welfare system

Florida State College at Jacksonville creates a learning community around Mary Ann Childers memoir Welfare Brat. More than 26 staff members and over 1,000 students joined together in the spring 2010 semester to read Welfare Brat. Professors of English, literature, humanities, and even public speaking assigned the book as part of the semester curriculum to their students and than allowed them to express their reactions through writing, art, and technology.

Green recieves Maggie; opens door for future educators

The 2010 Kent Campus Maggie Award recipient is Professor Robert Greene. "I was very honored to receive the award," said Green. "It felt very good knowing that the students who nominated me felt that way about me." Maggie Award's are student nominated faculty and staff members.
