"I have always loved traveling and international law," said Grace.
Her academic career thus far is spotless. She has a 4.0 GPA and is working hard to achieve academic honors upon graduating with her associate's degree.
She was apart of the dual enrollment program, so she was able to earn college credits while being home-schooled as a high school student.
Grace serves on the forensic team, Florida State College at Jacksonville's speech and debate club. This has helped Grace prepare for many future public speaking events.
"All of the professors and faculty members that help coach the school's forensics team have made a real impact on my life. They are always willing to spend extra time helping me prepare and practice for tournaments," said Grace, "They give up a lot of weekends to travel to competitions; this is all in addition to the classes that they teach. They are not coaching forensics because it's their job. They coach the team because they love it."
Trading in her high heels and collared dress shirt for jeans and cow girl boots; Grace owns a business in farm animal care. She cleans, feeds, and even trains several different types of farms animals.
This all began when she was a very young girl. She started riding horses at the age of 7 and still enjoys the activity today.
"I have always loved being around horses. I took riding lessons in middle school and high school and even showed horses for a while," said Grace, "Hanging out at the barn has always been a great stress reliever, and I've met a lot of great friends through riding. Riding even led me to starting my own business where I take care of other people's horses and livestock when they are out of town."
Volunteering her time is another one of Grace's passions. Currently, Grace is looking for an opportunity to serve on a foreign mission trip to Haiti to help out with earthquake disaster relief. She is starting to raise funds and desires to go there over the summer.
FSCJ is currently offering a study-aboard program that has also sparked her curiosity.
"I want to learn foreign languages and then go and have an opportunity practice them," Grace said, "I think studying-abroad will give me that chance."
Right now, Grace is planning to transfer for her bachelor's degree and wants to go onto law school as well before starting her own political career.
